I am trying to export my composition as a .json via the Lottie plugin in AE. My composition consists of all images except for one .mov file of a fireball animation. When Lottie renders the composition for export it includes everything except the fireball. Perhaps this is an issue with .mov files not being supported? I couldn’t find an answer online so I thought I’d ask here before giving up.
Lottie format doesn’t support .mov files, or video files in general. Lottie animations are typically based on vector and raster images (like .png or .jpg), shapes, and text, but video files and some effects are not supported.
To work around this, you can convert your .mov file into a series of images (like PNG sequence) and use those in your composition.
