Is Lottie able to export AVD/XML for Android files?
As I understand it, the Lottiefiles plug in should have more features than Bodymovin, so I’m stumped I can’t find the option to do so. Am I missing something?
Hi @Filip
Lottie cannot be exported to AVD/XML files, but you can use Lottie on Android by using the dotLottie Player: Streamlining Android Development with DotLottie | LottieFiles Developer Portal
Does this help resolve the use-case you’re looking at?
Hi, thanks for getting back at me. I managed to test my files on my androidphone, which I found pretty impressive. I prefer LottieFiles over Bodymovin as it feels more robust, feature complete and futureproof, but the client is adamant on XML files.
Can’t fall back on Bodymovin either, as it doesn’t support gradient fills, ruining the clients branding. Currently trying online Json to XML convertors.
Thanks for sharing. It helps me a lot.
Yes, Lottie can export animations to Android Vector Drawable (AVD) XML files. You can use the lottie-to-avd
tool, which is a command-line utility that converts Lottie JSON files to AVD XML. This tool is a fork of the bodymovin-to-avd
project. Lone Star College
