I can’t find any information on the website about the ability to search for and download free animations via the API

We currently don’t offer an API for searching and downloading free animations. However, we do offer an API service through IconScout: IconScout API

I tested IconScout even before writing this post, and it returns very primitive and poor-quality free results—so poor, in fact, that there’s no point in using them. That’s why I’m asking you and suggesting that you open up an API for searching and using free animations, so we don’t have to resort to web scraping. @haleeza

While the free collection is more limited, IconScout’s premium offering provides access to a much wider variety of high-quality assets, which may better suit your needs.

At the moment, we don’t offer a public API for searching or accessing free LottieFiles animations, and we’re unable to share any plans or timeline for introducing one.

That said, we’ve noted your feedback and will share your suggestion with the relevant team. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and let us know how this would improve your workflow.
