How to storyboard before designing Lottie Animation?

I’m a Graphic Designer. I’m new to Lottie and starting a new icons animation in Lottie. Is it necessary to storyboard your animation or are there any class/course of storyboarding Lottie animation?

Treat it like any other animation, just can’t use any effects shortcuts (for the most part).
