I got one today from that address saying they had a job for me. Obviously, it’s a total scam, pretty poorly executed and sloppy, too. The scary part is that it’s coming from an official LottieFiles domain, which makes it look somewhat legit. How is this even possible?
Yes I got the same one and it was hard to detect as phishing.
Thank you for flagging this issue. We’re aware of this phishing scam and want to assure the community that we’re taking it seriously.
What’s happening:
The scammer is exploiting our legitimate “Hire Animators” feature on the LottieFiles platform. When someone uses this feature to contact an animator, the system sends an email from our official domain (hello@lottiefiles.com).
The scammer has been using this feature to send fraudulent job offers that appear to come directly from LottieFiles.
The scammer’s tactics:
Once you receive the initial contact from hello@lottiefiles.com, the scammer directs you to:
-
Fake domains that mimic LottieFiles, such as lottiefiles.help (note: this is NOT our official domain)
-
Fake email addresses like offers@lottiefiles.help and alert@lottiefiles.help
-
Links or forms requesting personal information, payment details, or account credentials
These fake domains are designed to look like official LottieFiles communications, making the scam appear more convincing.
Actions we’ve taken:
We have identified and blocked the scammer’s account to prevent further abuse of the Hire Animators feature. We’re also implementing additional safeguards to detect and prevent this type of abuse in the future.
If you’ve been targeted:
-
Do not click on any links in the suspicious emails
-
Do not respond or provide any personal information
-
If you’ve already entered any personal or financial information, please change your passwords immediately and contact your bank or credit card company to report potential fraud
Important reminders:
-
LottieFiles’ only official domain is lottiefiles.com – any other variations (like .help, .net, etc.) are NOT affiliated with us
-
We will never ask you to enter credit card information for account verification
-
We will never ask for sensitive personal information via email
-
Legitimate job opportunities through our platform will never require upfront payments or personal financial details
How to protect yourself:
-
Carefully check email domains and URLs – scammers often use slight variations (lottiefiles.help vs lottiefiles.com)
-
Be suspicious of unsolicited job offers, especially those requiring immediate action or payment
-
Hover over links before clicking to see where they actually lead
-
If you require further assistance, please reach out to support@lottiefiles.com
