# Is This Impossible?

Hello Forum. Long time user, first time poster. I am an After Effects animator and I taught myself Lottie’s but I am having an issue with an animation. I have attached an image for reference. I want to be able to animate the phone and have the glow effects turbulent displacement wiggle.

The problem is none of this image is vector. I can’t even get the gaussian blur to work correctly. Is converting an image like this into an animated lottie to work in a mobile app beyond LottieFile capabilities? Or is it just a hell of a lot of work?

Hello,

When you export raster images (PNGs/JPEGs) in a Lottie animation, Bodymovin either converts them to base64 data URIs embedded in the JSON or references external assets. Most native Lottie rendering engines on iOS and Android do not support heavy raster-based filters like complex displacement maps, mesh warps, or true real-time Gaussian blurs across platforms.
